What's especially interesting are the comments being left for the article. Some seem to suspect that the owner set the fire himself, probably based on a previously unsolved arson of the attached building that local preservation interests want to maintain.

I can't speak for the pickles, but despite the controversy that has followed the owner of late, they do (did?) have the best burgers in town.

I was just at Clifton's Pizza a few days ago. A fire is probably the best thing that could happen to the building next to Ginny's Diner. There are outhouses in better shape than it is. No potential buyer would put forth the huge investment to fix it up. During the wind storms, Ginny's owners were probably praying it would just fall to the ground.
