Apparently, this resolution is being introduced tonight, despite some opposition to it there. It may not be overwhelmingly approved like a similar resolution was in the New Albany City Council. Jeffersonville Mayor Tom Galligan is on the record as gung ho for the Bridges Project, warts (tolls...

Here's the information about what sounds to be a very interesting exhibit at the Carnegie Center for Art & History:

Landmarks Through the Viewfinder: 50 Years of Preservation in Southern Indiana, on display July 23 through August 21, features photographs of landmarks in sixteen Indiana counties and and New Albany architectural remnants including the Scribner Park Fireman, a stone finial from the post office, parts of the original steeples from St. Mary’s and St. Marks Churches, and marble flooring from the Floyd County Courthouse.

They will be holding their Opening Reception on Friday, July 23 from 6 to 8pm. This will be free and open to the public. Music will be provided by the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Quartet.

While you're there, check out their permanent exhibit, Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage:
Men & Women of the Underground Railroad
. It's fantastic and very informative.
